From the moment we landed, it was clear that the Lord had already gone before us. Carlitos has faithfully loved and led this community for years, and we were honored to come alongside his efforts—to serve, encourage, and share in the work already bearing so much fruit.
Throughout the week, our team jumped into surf outreaches, helped with weekly lessons, and spent intentional time with the Eternal Wave crew. Whether it was preparing boards, sharing testimonies, or simply laughing on the beach, the joy of being unified in purpose was undeniable.
Carlitos' leadership is truly special—humble, Spirit-led, and attuned to the needs of his people. Watching God continue to grow him in strength and vision was one of the greatest gifts of the trip.
One day, we ventured into the desert and surfed perfect waves at Bermejo. The sun was intense, the waves were firing, and by the end of the day, we were completely wiped—sunburnt, sandy, and sore. But even in that, God met us. It was a great reminder that the greatest joys of life are often accompanied by discomfort, and that is a good thing. God is always with us to renew our strength as we continue following Him.
Back at the hostel, we met a skater named Josh, who quickly became a part of the story. He was deeply moved by how our team lived and loved and ended up joining us for a local skate contest. That day, we had the chance to pray over him and share what he called "another way"—a path marked by purpose instead of partying, peace instead of pressure. It was one of those holy, unexpected moments we'll never forget.
The unity we experienced as a team—despite different backgrounds, languages, and cultures—was a powerful reminder of the global Church.
We may be separated by borders, but in Christ, we are one body, moving together in love and truth.
This trip was full of laughs, long paddle-outs, late-night conversations, and countless spirit-led moments. We're beyond grateful for everyone who supported, prayed, and made it possible. God is moving in Lima, and we're humbled to play even the smallest part in that story.
